Even with two crutches I could barely walk. My doctors recommended immediate prosthetic surgery and I was put on a waiting list at the end of January. A waiting time of four to five hundred days was expected. It seemed unimaginable how I would make it that long.
That's when I turned to the Lexis Foundation for help so that at least one side could be operated on privately.
Their support was instrumental in making the operation possible this October.
