Before Christmas 2023, we also visited animals in need, bringing blankets and food.
We closed our Hernád Street centre at the end of the summer! We packed up the remaining clothes, toys, furniture, cleaning products and looked for donations in Ukraine.
Everyone is trying to hold on to the belief that the war will end and peace will return to the country. The holiday is an opportunity for families and friends to come together to celebrate the feast of the Resurrection.
In the grey days after the holidays, the need to help the vulnerable is even greater. This is our way of ensuring that vulnerable families receive full support and assistance. We felt it was very important to provide not only basic food but also things that would help them stay healthy and improve their quality of life.
The Lexis team launched a drawing competition for children, adults. The competition attracted many great entries. After the judging, we realised that we couldn't decide, so we gave everyone a first prize. Below you can see the drawings and pictures of the closing ceremony.
Thanks to the many donations from the public, we were able to help not only those who came to us. We were able to pack up many clothes, prams, blankets and bed linen and send them to Beregdeda.
The IOM donation will cover the longer-term costs of preparing food and hygiene kits for the refugee families who come to us. After registering, we will let families know when they can come to collect their parcels and choose from the clothes and products we have on hand.
The war forced many mothers to flee their homes and give birth to their children in a foreign country at perhaps the most important time of their lives. The wonderful moments of waiting and preparing for a child are not theirs to experience!
Language teaching, children's activities. The aim is to enable parents to become more involved in community life, to work, to learn and to find their place in their new environment.
Back to school, school shopping! Thank you to all those who supported our initiative and made it possible for the children to start a new school year in a new country.
The Lexis Foundation is a non-profit organisation with a public benefit mission. This means that it does not generate income from economic activity, but from grants and donations. The assets thus acquired - money and material assets - are used primarily for the activities set out in the articles of association.
